Through the network’s work, we aspire to establish a solid foundation for long-term monitoring on a national level, to assess the democratic process more comprehensively. This goes beyond evaluating only the voting day procedures, aiming to formulate recommendations that ultimately improve and advance future electoral processes in terms of integrity, transparency, accountability, and even the nature of competition.
The election monitoring network, one of the activities of the “Libyan Voices” project, aims to support the democratic process in Libya in preparation for the upcoming municipal elections by enhancing the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
We are working to develop a national cadre of trained and qualified monitors who will observe, record, and evaluate all aspects of the electoral process, starting from monitoring the legal framework to overseeing the implementation of electoral promises.
